A series of walks leaflets have been developed all starting and finishing at bus stops, ‘ Bus Walks’. The series covers 18 walks across the Downs covering an area from Worthing to Beachy Head. Each walk offers a different experience of the Downs on the footpaths and bridleways, together with the option of exploring areas of new Open Access land, which are highlighted on each walk (not available for Worthing leaflet yet).

Worthing/Lancing (includes Coombes, Cissbury and Findon).
Shoreham (includes Southwick, Bramber and Beeding).
Hangleton (includes Mile Oak, Hangleton and Chattri).
Stanmer Park (includes Stanmer, Woodingdean and Rottingdean)
Telscombe (includes Rottingdean, Telscombe and Mill Hill)
Sussex Heritage Coast (includes Seven Sisters, Alfriston and Beachy Head).

Breeze Buses

Relax – let someone else do the driving, while you sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery. Take the bus to Freedom – freedom from traffic queues, parking hassles and freedom to have a drink!

Breeze up to the Downs is a network of three bus services linking the city with some of its most popular countryside destinations:
77 Brighton Pier to Devil's Dyke
Every Sunday and public holiday except Christmas Day - using a double-deck, low-floor easy access bus.
78 Brighton Old Steine into and right through Stanmer Park
Every Sunday and public holiday except Christmas Day - hourly, using a single-deck, low-floor, easy access bus.
79 Brighton Old Steine to Ditchling Beacon
Every Sunday and public holiday except Christmas Day - hourly, using a small single-deck bus.

Open Access

Areas of downland have been opened up for walkers, which can be explored by using the Bus Walks leaflets or by using the Breeze Buses. Look out for the Open Access logo which are fixed to gates, stiles or posts showing where you can walk freely. Find out more about where you can use the new right to walk freely on mapped land without having to stick to paths by visiting www.countrysideaccess.gov.uk.
